October 29th- Tom and Heidi had a costume mingle at their house to say good-bye to Andrew. He has been over in Japan and was on leave and is leaving again. Jer stayed home with the girls (Lily was sleeping) so I went alone, but there were so many people to see. Jarom and Kayo brought their kids, Ken and Elizabeth came with their kids, Tabitha and Ian, other Andrew, etc.“All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not WITHER, Deep roots are not reached by the frost." Mahoney Annual Halloween Party of Awesomeness
October 28th- Believe me when I say this is only a third of the pictures that I took. This party was so fun! Food contest, Karaoki, Costume contest, amazing food, lots of crazy people. So much fun.Fieldtrip to the Fire Station
October 28th- Lexi's preschool went on a fieldtrip to see a fire station. I took off a few hours of work so I could go. My boss is supportive of me going on fieldtrips and to little singing performances so I am lucky. First all the kids lined up for pictures.Skating practice

October 27th- So I told a few of my co-workers about me wanting to join derby and they were kind of excited. Rand, who used to be a huge skater, offered to come with me and help me learn a few things. It was awesome. I took Lexi. She was really unsteady on her skated until Jer got there and could help her just skate on carpet. After that Rand taught me a bunch of stuff about skating, did I mention this was about the 4th time in my life on skates and I am super uncoordinated. It went great. Well later that night was my first derby practice and thank goodness Rand had taken me out because everyone else was much better skaters then me. They had training for the newbies. I learned to fall, stop, cross over. I am super good at falling (the correct way) I was surprised when I was not sore the next day. I will be doing my basic skills assessment in the end of November/beginning of December and then I will post when the games are. The Happy Valley Derby Darlings also have a page on facebook for those who want to follow them.

Watch out world! (and I am serious)
October 24th-So Jer wants me to join the roller derby. 1 problem: I don't know how to skate. We went out and bought me all the gear, now I just need a pillow to tie around my behind. Jer thinks it would be good for me to have a hobby outside the house and he thinks derby girls are hot. My friend Danielle is a derby girl and she loves it, so I am willing to try it. Wish me luck.
